Local Father Tired Of Playing Catch, Wishes Son Could Find Some Friends To Do This With

SAN DIEGO - Sources say that a local dad is getting really sick of his son asking him to play catch on a daily basis, and he sincerely wishes that his son could find some friends to throw a ball around with instead.

“I have nothing against my son,” said Jerry Farthing, an accountant for an insurance firm and the father of a nine-year-old boy. “I just really wish he would stop pestering me to play catch every single day. I work a demanding nine-to-five job on a daily basis, and the last thing I want to do when I come home at the end of the day is to throw a baseball back and forth for hours on end. It’s not even a regular game of catch...he’s always asking me to throw him pop flies and grounders, like he thinks he’s training to be a professional baseball player or something. I don’t have the heart to tell him that he’s a mediocre athlete at best, but I’d really appreciate it if he could find some friends to do this with so I can have a beer and relax instead of throwing my arm out after a hard day’s work.”

While Jerry says that he loves his son very much, he conceded that he would probably love him a lot more if he wasn’t constantly being such an annoying little brat.

“Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s amazing that my son wants to spend time with me,” said the weary father. “The problem is that I’m really not sure if I want to spend time with him.”
